Wait until you swipe on the space key.

At least on the Google keyboard it moves the cursor in the swipe direction. Very useful if you need to correct anything.

    Omg. Listen to yourself.

This is the last thing I'll address because you're being deliberately obtuse now and just parroting the same, dull, seemingly deliberately naive takes.

literally called "The Republic of China"

That's ignoring the countries that recognise them. That nomenclature is from history. Same as the Irish claim on the North. If they called themselves the Republic of Taiwan, China would invade post haste. Like this is twelve year old child level obvious.

You're bringing nothing to the discussion that you haven't already said and the .uk suffix coupled with such apology for an obviously independent nation smells so bad of a bad actor that I'm out.

It's not. Ireland claimed Northern Ireland, while the UK didn't claim the Republic of Ireland.

No, but it claimed the North. You're deliberately ignoring my point which is that the claims, both ways, are bluster.

So in your opinion, literally every country and Taiwan itself is China's bitch.

More or less, yes. There are exceptions and hats off to them. I wish my country had the balls but selling some butter (which I've seen in supermarkets in China) is more important to them.

China will cut off ties if you don't recognise the one China policy. Even the US accepts it for trade purposes, all while arming the shit out of Taiwan to defend itself from annexation and maintaining heavy ambiguity on whether they'll defend Taiwan.

Nobody claims Taiwan is a country, Taiwan doesn't even claim to he a country.

    Provably false.

This is equivalent to Ireland having a constitutional claim on the North until the 90's. Essentially meaningless. Taiwan is an independent country and anyone who says otherwise is China's bitch IMO. That includes my country.

  • BBG movie. Help. (lemmy.world)
submitted 3 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) by to c/movies@piefed.social

Some time ago I put a reminder in my calendar about the "BBG movie".

At the time in my absolute hubris assumed I would remember what BBG stood for. Search turns up nothing useful even with BFG excluded.

Decent chance it's a kids movie.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Edit: it's likely something to be released soon either on streaming or cinema. I checked my local cinema listings and nothing matches.

Edit 2: calendar doesn't say when I set it unfortunately

    Inside:

I used the five minute baguette recipe which another lemming pointed me towards during the week but quartered it and subbed with sourdough starter for some of the water, flour and all the yeast.

Left it to proof for about 13 hours instead of the 8-10 in the recipe.

It tastes savage with butter and strong cheddar. Savage.

I did a full batch of the normal recipe in the video but over-proofed it (long story but not deliberate). That came out more like Panini but was also delish.

Definitely will be doing again. It was a big hit with the fam.
