#signal does not support #SMS anymore.
If you are looking for an alternate SMS app, you could try #QUIK, which is working pretty well for me.
Remember sms doesn't give any privacy for your communications. For better privacy use signal and encourage your contacts to move on to it.

I agree. This sentence in the blog is very badly written.

Polls are end-to-end encrypted and only visible to members of the group chat, but poll responses are not anonymous and anyone can see who has voted for which option in a poll.

Specifically the word anyone make this very confusing. I've put a feedback in the signal forum. Hopefully they'll correct it.

That's right. Everyone in the group where the poll is run has complete access to the poll results.

Not clear which article you are referring to or what you mean by offline communication ability.
By offline communication, if you mean the ability to send messages to people who might be offline when you send the messages, yes you can do that with signal. When the recipient comes online, the message will be delivered to them.
And for the last part, NO.. signal doesn't provide any peer-2-peer networking support. You need a wifi or mobile data network to connect to the signal servers.
#Briar does support peer-2-peer messaging (using bluetooth I believe).

This was a #molly specific change and not in the official signal. Molly did this change in the last release, I believe, and apparently is not a very popular change. There is a feature request in the molly repo to revert this change back to original dark theme. (github.com/mollyim/mollyim-android/issues/447)
