Alt: bluesky screenshot. The text of the post reads: "Someone please pay me to cover nothing but rural festivals I'm having THE TIME OF MY LIFE at the Elkhorn Rib Festival".

The post includes a photo of a woman with glasses wearing a pink t-shirt that says "Anal Bead Tug o' War Champion". She is standing outdoors under a canopy or tent, tilting her head back and drinking out of a large glass bottle of Evan Williams. In the background, other festival attendees and camping equipment are partially visible.

Alt: simple cartoon of a femme person. Speech bubbles from someone not shown talking to the person, "you're offputting and you sound funny." Femme person says "thanks it's because i'm neurodivergent and transgender." The text "Work Simulator" is in the bottom right corner.

I do not believe in the supernatural, magic, ghosts or anything like that. However, I can be very superstitious about tempting fate and won't make jokes or flippant remarks that could be interpretted as such.

For example, my partner made a dark joke about how she'd rather have cancer than such and such. I begged her not to say such things, not because the thought of her having cancer upset me (although it did), but because it feels as if saying stuff like that could make it happen.

Lik the bone (lemmy.world)

Tumblr thread, one user says that archeologists identify human remains by taste. A second user points out that this is not true, bone is identified as not a normal rock by touching it to your tongue and seeing if it sticks. If it does then bone.

Third user shares a poem they wrote: mai nam is jane and wen i dig i fynde some roks both smol and big i put my tung upon the stone for science yes i lik the bone

4th user is an archeologist and is crying laughing with a bunch of other archeologists and they're going to have shirts made with the poem.

I'm bald, like George Costanza in season 9 bald. The cheap wigs I've tried look like, well, cheap fake hair. They were also incredibly hot and itchy. At this point I think going around completely shaved or with a bandana as a head wrap looks best, but I still really wish I could present with hair.

I'd like to try a good wig but they're so pricey, and I'm worried that even if it looked good that it would be intolerably uncomfortable to wear all day.

Would anyone recommend trying out quality wigs, or is it just not worth the cost and discomfort?
