While I'm not upset about the Hereditary dick-riding, I will agree that is overrated. It's fine. It's not even Ari Aster's best horror film. Toni Collette is good. The rest of the care is serviceable and it's not really scary.

Here's why I like it: not only is it funny and playing with all the tropes of the genre which had long gone stale, but it's a sharp and well made slasher.
