And I think the options for audio and office are pretty decent, LibreOffice definitely does all that I need and there's a healthy community of musicians and audio enthusiasts building things in Linux.
Hardware design and CAD have the additional blockers that they require physical manufacturing and open source hardware has a long, long ways to go. Without an ability to actually produce the physical goods, open source software doesn't go anywhere. Kind of a bootstrapping problem.
Portals aren't real and so work however you want them to, but people rarely consistently apply their models.
I'd say A given how they work in the games though. Only the object's momentum is conserved. The portal doesn't transfer momentum. There may be a slight breeze coming out of the blue end as the column of air in front of the portal-plate is pushed in, but the cube is just going to flop out.

Ah man, yeah it sucks! I took the Amtrak up to Chicago one time, which was a neat trip but wow is it depressing the towns the train rolls through. I haven't tried the once a day line out to ATL. At least the NOLA station is actually downtown, even if it's buried under the interstate and a pain to get to.

GOG games run just fine on Linux, some native and some under Wine\Proton (almost entirely on the game's devs, but GOG does have their support program to get Wine working on older unsupported games).
GOG Galaxy, their launcher app, does not have a Linux version. You have to download games off their website directly or use Lutris, Heroic, or some other third party management platform to manage them. The advantage of using a game manager--aside from easier monitored game downloads, automatic updates, and community features--is that they're usually set up Wine for you as well, which can be annoying to set up and use correctly.
Long winded ramble that loops on itself a few times but ultimately doesn't understand how brains or LLMs work and so it just comes across like making metaphors fight each other.
It's some ugly slop no matter how it was made. Lot of speculation they took several screenshots or renders and asked AI to cartoonify and upscale.
I had a weird dream last night about this thing. We built it with a meat 3D printer and genetic engineering, to win a scavenger hunt.
Well, except in my dream it was skinless like a Resident Evil dog, very fleshy and vagina-dentata-esque. Didn't realize until I sketched it how much the face resembles a weepinbell (the Pokémon).

I didn't know what to do with this prompt until a searched it and saw the first picture of Roddy Piper and I knew I had to try sketching a scene from the infamous "big fight." This would be another excellent candidate for some serious Jojo posing, but I'm quite a ways away--skills-wise--from that kind of high-creativity reinterpretation.

I've seen one very excellent sketch of the star ship Firefly, which I figured would be a popular interpretation but so far just the one! I wanted to go a bit cartoonier but didn't want to just straight copy like the Princes and the Frog firefly or some other version. So I started with a photo reference of a real firefly and ended up with this slightly messy, uncanny little fellow.

This is also my very first piece of Jojo fan art (maybe my first piece of anime/manga fan art ever too, come to think of it!) It's pretty fun drawing figures so dramatically! I wish I had a better eye for such poses without a reference, maybe someday if I keep up my drawing practice!

Unfortunately, I gotta say this is a word that has become sadly associated with a certain world leader that I think we all tire of hearing about. (Really ruined a word I loved for the top suit in playing cards as well!)
Annnnyway, a nice handshake is still a well-recognized symbol for closing a deal, so I decided to get some hand and shading practice in today. Happy drawing!
Drawing fleur-de-lis is really hard! They seem so simple but all those symmetric curves get away from you so easily! Still, I'd like to better at drawing them since they're so strongly tied to NOLA. I couldn't get it right with my digital tablet though, so I went old school paper, pencil, and ink for this one!
And my last one for today, Blunder! Portrait of the artist as an anxious piece of shit trying to cross off some todo list items!
I don't really think it's a mistake to commit to a month of daily doodles, and I really think my sketching is improving with the practice, but forcing myself to sit down today and get caught up did feel daunting up front.
I think this one is my favorite for today. I didn't mean to make him so... rotund but I kind of like it! It's like a spooky balloon, just floating on by!
