It is perfect for a game like this but I guess the freedom you have in prompts that may make your miis say questionable stuff which might work as comedy as in the picture that follows but also may be seen as discrimination when out of context.

Bad things: the game does not allow me to share the pictures, or video captures. I understand the reason but not being able to (easily) share funny interactions with my bf is something I definitely don't fancy.

it has a weird, very japanese sense of humour, but very enjoyable. I don't enjoy making random miis, but the game has a "assisted" mii creastion tool that makes that less of a pain.

You can get very fun dialogues by inserting not-so-random prompts. And you can make things "happen" but also just watch while doing other stuff. I find it so far very enjoyable, and not very repetitive.

I've seen it being compared to The Sims, Animal Crossing or Pokopia. It's much more hands off than the first, and you do barely any interactivity in contrast to AC or Pokopia. Kinda like a movie you make an interaction every once in a while.

Got hooked into the Tomodachi Life train. It brings the kind of non-involvement and casual play I need right now.

I share the sentiment of the comments that XMPP is still a thing, and pretty much used. I'm using it right now. It is true that is no longer as widespread as it used to, and it is a bit dauntier to use in contrast of current "install an app, get an account (linked to phone or whatever), go". Gotta pick a server and stuff.

The point is, we can still aim to return to XMPP, or at least turn to it when talking about secure, not enterprise, federated, message communications. At least instead of going to the next walled garden, maybe not linked to CIA next time or whatever.

I played Vice City and I enjoyed both the open world and the fantastic soundtrack. Most of my playing was just driving around while listening to the radio. So I guess what I really wanted was a super simplified driving simulator and Kate Bush mp3s.

I don't deny that and I don't think the subscription model is a good model. I just don't find it as surprising anymore.

i don't know how it's that amazing in 2026, considering there's subscription models for just anything right now.

Anyway, i doubt the nintendo classics emulation is the real reason anyone subcribes to Nintendo Switch Online.
