Why are governments and their employees even allowed a vote.
New Jim Crow has prevented people from voting for a long time. Ask any of the people now barred from voting because they smoked a plant that's now legal and making the wealthy class a lot of money.
The American myth of democracy is a strong one, but it needs to die. Even aside from the new jim crow (which Michelle Alexander lays out much more coherently than I did above in her book), half the population doesn't vote and we are only given two choices which the half that do vote openly calls their own party evil, as in lessor of two evils, evil.
Dont even get me started on our campaigns to "spread democracy" across the world.
We havent had democracy in a long time, if ever. Its always been the rich vs the rest of us. Its time to wake up.
They just realized they were training a model how to authenticate to their internal systems and selling that model would allow any user who bought it to do the same.
Don't worry the robo apocalypse will continue after a brief intermission.
While i question your kcal count, i agree that swimming is one of the few great exercises for weight loss.
Also what most people consider very long distance running (like at least 20 miles per week, realistically even more) is great. IIRC your body doesn't even start to primarily burn fat until like 30 or 40 minutes into an intense workout and it's slow to burn any.
Pay attention you are at the gym. 90% of the people on treadmills are walking with the vast majority getting off after 20 to 30 minutes. Dont get me wrong. Its better than doing nothing, but its like bare minimum maintenence and definitely not even close to fat loss.
People burn through a small amount of their glycogen stores at the gym. Maybe 100 to 200 calories. Go home and drink a 500 calorie smoothie as a reward and wonder why they aren't losing weight.
Great cat trap. Keep an eye out to see if you catch any neighborhood cats too!
Learning Vim makes this meme even worse. I lose my mind watching people use the arrow keys to navigate a document.
The problem is too many women and minorities vote for the opposite party so they want to make laws that take away their rights without explicitly saying that is what they are doing.
Its required. You hand them your driver's license (photo ID) when you walk in.
Something like 99% of all animals raised on farms in the US are on factory farms. Yet somehow every other time this question comes up people never eat food from factory farms.
You could be the 1%, but odds are pretty good that you dont actually know where your meat comes from.
I use soy milk to help meet my protein needs not wants. It is sold by three trees who only sells organics and only plant based milks.
I became a vegan to reduce my consumption and impact. It was not and still is not a popular decision. It was not advertised to me. It was and continues to be actually quite alienating.
I work to challenge "the system" in many ways other than my veganism, but to be clear veganism is challenging "the system." It is explicitly about making the choice to not indulge in wants if they cause harm.
Of course capitalists will cash in on any trend. Guilt by association is a fallacy that can be used to incorrectly dismiss anything.
Idk if this is you but it doesn't follow that because there is no ethical consumption under capitalism therefore I'll just have cows raped, separated from their babies, and murdered my whole life so I can drink their secretions.
Drinking soy or oat milk is definitely more ethical than cows milk. Im not saying it is saying it is 100% ethically pure just as no consumption under capitalism can be ethically pure.
