If you can afford it, buy from local roasters. The companies listed in the report are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to coffee. Your local roaster will surely be buying direct from the farms, and the coffee will be miles ahead in terms of flavor.

There's a common clause in most commercial B2B agreements called "Force Majeure" which protects one or more parties in case of an unforseen event. War is usually one of the points in such a clause.
