I think I've found the Plains (USG 331 to 334), which depict Serra if I got that right, but what about the Swamps? I understand that they may not exist as Angels are overwhelmingly white-aligned, but maybe there's something?

I don't know how to search something this specific, I found about the Plains thanks to someone else who asked about them.

thanks in advance!

been a while since I last got a precon, and I wanted to get the EoE ones, but they've been sold out on Amazon for the past four days, except for today that they popped back up, but at 1.8x MSRP, which I'm not keen on paying.

What's the word around? I don't have a local store, and I'm not really in any communities besides this one, are they really sought after, and that's why Amazon got no more? If I'm not mistaken this isn't a HUGE set and thus they should be widely available/reprinted, yet I can't find them for MSRP

should I just wait more, and they'll likely be back in stock for the actual price? thanks!

You do have to like the commander and what it does (and the singleton and multiplayer format), but it sounds like you don't have the time to find out what that is, since yours get removed often and quickly. Getting obliterated is never fun, even when you love the format and the commander

If they have only high power decks, yeah you're better off trying to find a new-ish commander and proxy a whole deck around that. Keep in mind that usually older precons are pretty underpowered compared to newer cards. Still, since you sound new to EDH they could at least make an effort once and either borrow a precon or build something low power with the spare cards they have, if possible.

Honestly just consider proxying the cards; after having spent a bit too much on colored paper I'm realizing that buying actual cards is nothing more than cosmetic (if you only play with friends). That way you can try out ALL the cards you feel like trying, without wasting money.

You can either print the full card with this site (https://mtgprint.net/) or an ever more ink-saving version with this one (https://playtestproxies.com/).

Of course always keep in mind the power level of the decks used in your group and ask them if they're okay with it.

Regarding your OP, it sounds like your pod is playing at a level higher than precon; when we play precons only we see maybe two single-target removals and maaaybe one boardwipe, which is normal since stock precons have very little removal. Ask them to bring precons next time

I'd rather get very good ones instead of printing my own (I have a very basic printer).

I looked around the bootleg subred, is Ron still the way to go nowadays? Has anyone tried liberproxies?

Also, am I understanding correctly that Ron won't print just any card, but only those in the Google spreadsheet? If yes, then liberproxies sounds like the better option for me.

    Let me know your experiences!

While the statement in the OP is true, have you considered Pauper? If I understand correctly, while I haven't built a Pauper deck yet, the limitations on card rarity should make it very possible to build a strong deck without spending too much. There's also proxies, which cost a fraction of real cards and shpuld be good enough to play with

I've noticed that in my playgroup when someone is falling behind in Commander they usually get much, much less heat, to the point that they're able to ramp their mana and then just win out of nowhere after everyone has depleted their resources etc., so I was wondering if one could actually fake it and if you do do you have any tips for it?
