When to world looks at Russia attacking Ukraine, most people realize that there are Russians who are anti-war. That doesn’t negate the fact that ‘Russia’

Here's the thing, I agree with this completely. But it IS NOT what I'm arguing against here. I'm arguing against the people that are saying each individual American is responsible. I'm not misinterpreting what they're saying, they're being very explicit.

These people aren't differentiating "America" as currently directed by Trump and supporter by Trump supporters. They are blaming ALL Americans.

Can I say that every member of the UK is responsible for Brexit and that I think every man, woman and child is an idiot for bringing it about? No, that would be wrong - that would being an arrogant and ignorant American.

But non-Americans ALWAYS get a pass when they act that towards us. People are calling me a Nazi in this thread - are you saying that's justified?

You didn't address a single thing I said and just resorted to insults. Pretty fucking pathetic, dude.

Either don't respond, make an argument or admit you don't have one.

I am ridiculously far from a "nationalistic jackass". I just do not accept bigotry or misinformation IN ANY FORM. And you're a spineless coward caving to it, letting people blame for things you're not responsible for.

What other forms of bigotry would like to engage in? Are all black people criminals? Are all car accidents caused by Asian drivers? Or maybe we should ask our European friends about the Roma or Muslims? That's what bigotry is. You should not excuse it, ever. It is ALWAYS wrong.

All these non-American bigots are refusing to name their own countries because they know they have their share of bigots and their own sordid histories.

We are currently sitting at the table with Nazis.

For fuck's sake man, what is this tendency to make this ridiculous comparisons.

The Nazis invaded most of Europe and systematically rounded up and murdered 12 million people based on their Aryan racial ideology.

I know the US has a lot to be criticized for, but we ARE NOT doing that. That's just a fucking fact.

How am I supposed to "stop people from being at my table" in a country of 300 million? You know why these non-American bigots refuse to admit which country they're from? Because they know they ALSO have far-right maniacs in their country. They have racists. They have sordid histories. They're not clearing THEIR table of extremists because, deep down, they know how fucking stupid of a request that that is.

Stop falling for their bullying. I didn't vote Trump, I did what I could to convince others not to. I am not responsible for his presidency. What am I supposed to do?

Here's the problem with that. The media did report on these comments by Trump - both when he made them 2011-2013 through to the present.

Here it is being covered by Fox29 in 2020:

    https://www.fox29.com/news/trump-claimed-in-2011-2012-that-obama-would-start-war-with-iran-to-get-reelected

Here is a transcript from a CNN broadcast in which they displayed these comments after one of his SOTU speeches:

    https://transcripts.cnn.com/show/sotu/date/2026-03-01/segment/01

Another CNN transcript in which they directly confront Jim Jordan with these comments:

    https://transcripts.cnn.com/show/arena/date/2026-03-12/segment/01

    Here is NPR covering it:

    https://www.wbur.org/npr/nx-s1-5732601/trump-maga-iran-war-israel

I'm sure I'll get "downvoted" to hell for not conforming the crowd here and providing verifiable information that disproves this claim. I personally think one of the worst things Trump has done is to allow people to lump the "media" in some amorphous entity that can be accepted or dismissed whenever it's convenient for your argument. This has infected both the left and right.

Do you understand what my issue is with these "evil media" lazy simplifications? People are addicted to some kind self-righteousness buzz "sticking it to the man" and they willingly spread damaging misinformation simply because it fits their preconceived notions.

The rest of point just seems to be an issue with journalistic standards - them not using the specific words you want? That's you wanting a Fox News equivalent telling you want to hear. Every single article/transcript posted above gives you the needed information to come to that obvious conclusion. I am not usually the "sky is falling type" but it is really starting to seem like social media has made this country significantly stupider. People refusing to read beyond a headline IS NOT the fault of the media. Headlines are not articles aggregators like Reddit or Lemmy encourage people to think they have the right to praise or criticize an article based ONLY on the headline - literally judging a book by it's cover.

I’m not reading OPs comment as being about the media not covering the war.

I honestly don't know how you can't. Those are the words he used, it seems unambiguous. You're taking an unsupported leap in this interpretation.

I read it as a statement that the media not covering it as Trumps warm

Of course they have been. People here just don't read the news. They read snippets and memes and internet comments from random people. Going by AP's coverage alone, you can't think the war was caused by anyone but Trump.

What's happening here are typical lazy generalizations of the "media", which lumped into some single entity by these simpletons. These are the exact people who got us into this Trump situation in the first place. There have been countless times where I've seen a person claim "the media isn't covering this" only to have a quick Google search reveal that most major networks had. Sadly, most prefer to believe the lie because it fits their immature and simplistic worldview.

In 2016, Trump made it ok to call what you don't like "fake news" and to disregard real reporting. Now it's infected both the left and right and the country has gotten much stupider.

Ignoring the wants and agency of the globe is not incompatible with ‘policing’ the globe, especially given the style of American ‘policing’ is killing random fishermen and triple tapping girls schools.

Well yeah it is, by definition. If we're engaging with the rest of the world in any way, we're not ignoring it. Don't move the goalposts, you dishonest piece of shit.

What country are you from? Or you another pussy on this site that refuses to divulge because you know what'll happen? We all know you won't.

This is not hard to follow. You responded to someone, your comment appears below theirs. I responded to you, my comment appears below yours. Notice how this trend continues.

How is he "right" in saying there has "never" been a fair election in his lifetime but he's not including two of them? Has he died and come to life repeatedly?

And yet you still won't name it, you fucking coward.

We are not number one infant mortality and corruption, you fucking dumbass. Do you even what the Transparency Index is?

You fucking bigots think you can just state ANYTHING as a fact as long as it's anti-American. It's beyond pathetic.

The US is no where near "number 1" in infant mortality. What are you basing your assertion? Anything asides from "feels"? Try actual data, you dumbshit bigot.

Gun violence, admittedly a problem, but stating we're "number 1" is just a further demonstration of your ignorance: The U.S. firearm-death rate was 13.2 per 100,000 in 2023, below Venezuela, El Salvador, Haiti, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and several other countries.

Number one in corruption? Transparency International puts the US as 26th out of 182 countries. In case you didn't know, which is extremely likely, the lower number the less corruption.

What makes you think you just make shit up like that? Do you think it makes you MORE credible somehow? It's just a blatant statement of your incredible ignorance or maybe willing ignorance to defend your bigotry.

Do you think that people worldwide made distinctions on who the “good” German’s were while the Nazis steamrolled Europe?

Do you think literally ever German was responsible for Nazi policies?

Do you think it's WRONG to say every single Japanese person deserved to die in the American nuclear bombings, even children and infants? I do. I don't care if other people are so stupid that they make such careless generalizations. We should all be better than that. You're excusing their bigotry.

we should have fought harder than just thinking voting

Voting did solve our problem, not voting is what caused this. Another one you stupid fucking keyboard revolutionaries, right?

No, I am not going to accept blatant falsehoods to make non-Americans feel better about their bigotry and I am not taking the blame for something I'm not responsible for.

I know my opinion isn’t popular

Your opinion is wrong, factually. It is based on an incredibly poor understanding of the situation. You're just looking to excuse your bigotry.

Some Americans are to blame, some are not. Which incredibly simple concept are you not getting? Democracy? Or the fact that the US is made up of more than one individual?

There is no logical basis for your bullshit argument and thankfully, no matter how presumptuous and pompous you apparently are, you don't speak for the entire rest of the world.

  • Clogging carts (lemmy.world)

Is there any actual way to prevent or fix clogged carts. I buy 1 gram, make it halfway through and then it becomes unusable.

I've been trying for months with different batteries and carts. Does anyone else find this is significantly worse just smoking flower? I was hoping this would be a useful and portable method but for most it's been money down the drain.

It's like buying a bottle of liquor and watching half it evaporate.

Is it just the industry is a "Wild West" with no consistency standards?

    I have a Compass Vessel.

**Thanks for advice all. I've had a little success with sealing the cart in a zip lock bag and letting it sit in warm water for a bit.

    Vaping Troubles (lemmy.world)

I'm trying to switch to vaping oil. I've started using the UNI Pro 2.0. I can't stop these extended coughing fits. I have it at the lowest voltage. I pre-heat. I take a very short hit. But more often than not, I ended up coughing for 15 minutes.

Was really looking forward to transitioning to vaping but have been extremely disappointed. Is there anything that cane be done about this or should I just back to combustion?
