resolved is entirely optional and disabled by default, I use it on case of non-mobile devices but leave it on laptops etc.

DNS resolution isn't something exotic, it makes sense for systemd to implement it in a simple optional daemon

    It's Stockholm syndrome

I mean who doesn't like putting mandatory quotes around all variables (though exceptions, like in [[ ... ]], apply)?

Or keywords like fi and esac or worrying about $IFS

Almost nobody cares about these features for new shells. POSIX compatibility in my opinion is an anti-feature for interactive shells; for scripts, use the shell referenced in the shebang. There are even newer POSIX compatible shells like oil if you want one of these.

Garfield seems to have similar rules. Garfield can talk to all other animals just fine, except possibly Odie. The only reason Odie is an exception is that Odie seems to never actually "talk" other than the occasional barking episode. Odie also completely ignores, or cannot hear a thing that Garfield is saying.

I recently posted a picture from the Garfield Halloween story (Garfield in Disguise / Halloween Adventure) where both of these are different; Garfield shares with Odie that he won't share treats with him, to which Odie reacts by talking. Granted it's from the German version, but still. He must have at least understood in the original judging by the facial expression.

Place seems to have a mice problem, maybe they should get a cat

Also I like how the mice can read Garfield's thoughts. I know that's been the trope side day one but it's really silly in an inter-species setting where they'd need to hear him for it to physically work. Not the first time, but somehow very striking here

I'm pretty sure AI partners are not the primary reason people don't have human partners. The issues are systematic and root very deeply. While I do think AI partners are a very toxic and dangerous way out of this, I highly doubt they were the reason people were single in the first place.

Did it make sense? No… but I had an early burnt joker that was unfortunately eternal so I thought why not.

Run died on on Ante 16 unfortunately because I got no hand size voucher (also didn't pay attention to skips, which didn't help), but still a solid run.

Joker lineup consisting of two mimes, an eternal burnt, eternal rental baron and brainstorm

    Deck during final round:

Not perfectly fixed but whatever. I knew run would die because of lack of hand size and one joker slot missing from eternal burnt so I focused on leveling high card for fun.

Edit: I also had some blue seals for most of the run which with the two mimes later would give three planets, which is where a lot of levels came from

A follow-up to my post last week, the title is a bit unfortunate but it is what it is.

Anyhow, here I set up a repository that defines one host using the dendritic approach in a very simple manner (plus another one before to introduce how flake-parts does this). It uses the package and service defined in another repository in Part 1, also linked in this post.

It only goes into the basics and is already long enough in my opinion, but I tried to write everything down to start with a clean base from scratch. There is a lot of room for improvement, but it should get the basics right.

No true xmult joker (though wheel was generous enough for a random poly) and a single scaling +mult. The initial Vagabond can be bought after the very first round and copied a bit later, leading to huge deckfixing potential. Obviously two eternal vagabonds are a hindrance for anything more serious, but this won gold easily. Seed is VDY57414 (PS my instance doesn't seem to show previews by default anymore, you might need to click on the image box)

Got an early DNA that had a 50% chance of being copied by invis joker (forgot which other one I had back then), used it to clone tons of purple seals to feed fortune teller (only bad luck of the run was no crystal ball or discard vouchers when I could afford), an early hologram from a judgement made this really easy as it gained 0.5x every round from DNA. Round 7 shop had Idol which for me was completely unstickered, Round 7 Boss Blind had 2 of Spades for Idol which were my purple seals, after that it was Ace of Spades which were cloned blue seal iron cards, so I skipped straight to the final Boss Blind.

Seed is S4INQKLR in case anyone's curious

    Beat Jokerless today (www.youtube.com)

Beat Jokerless today after trying since some days and some ragequits and restarts. Video is Ante 8 only, run started around 10s (mostly a 10 of hearts mult with gold seal) until a grim destroyed exactly that card from a draw where this was the only 10… anyhow it turned out well.

Mods active: better mouse and keyboard, and Talisman with scoring animation disabled. Actually a handicap because I wasn't able to assess early how significant lucky cards are for hitting the score.
