Tap to pay won't work at all? I've been considering Graphene for when Google locks the OS. I don't mind installing and running Play Store and Google Wallet, but I hadn't considered that I might have to go back to ensuring I had my wallet with me every time I left the house.
I used to watch this after school at a friend's house while I waited for my mom to finish work. They were hooked up to a strange satellite service that (he thought) was connected to some kind of national feed. The result was that all of the local/regional commercials were missing. So, we got the show and one or two commercials; the rest was just blank.
I'm impressed that they correctly estimated the amount of space they would need for all of those words. Negligible clumping of letters to cram in the last bit. Even for just a short phrase, I sometimes have to write backwards to ensure I don't run out of room on the paper.
Militaries all over the world start feasibility studies on it about every five years. Strangely, as soon as they get to the human-trials stage, the report, without fail, abruptly terminates.
Based on the abstract of a research paper I found (the only source I found not interested in exaggerating things for clicks or commenting on mundane problems like nests and poop), crows know that dropping rocks is fun. The researchers (again, according to the abstract--the meat is behind a paywall, as usual) speak as if crows are always dropping rocks; the implication being that the presence of the solar panels is happenstance. Their research merely correlates cracks in the panels, and pebbles on the panels, with crows flying overhead. In the paragraph they don't even directly blame the cracked panels on the rocks, let alone the crows. They simply state the chain of events as a possibility.
On the other hand, I've heard lots of fun facts about birds over the years and the underlying theme is that birds are bastardly and some, like crows, are intelligent. What human kid doesn't enjoy throwing rocks or shooting bullets at glass? I don't find it hard to believe that crows might similar mayhem enjoyable.
Currently using a Pixel 7. Not sure what I'm going to do in a few months when Google locks the OS down. Probably, I'll finally have to get around to seriously investigating Graphene :(
I currently figure my next phone will be either another Motorola (my Moto X was favorite phone ever) or something by Fairphone. More likely, Fairphone. Motorola hasn't really appealed to me since Google carved all the interesting tech patents out them and discarded the rest of the company. I suppose it depends on whether I like Graphene and whether Motorola follows through with their promise to support it. Anyway, I'll cross that bridge when my 7 dies.
I only care if I can hear and I consider myself fairly normal. In the car, 9 is usually where I can hear my podcasts over the road noise. 8 and I miss words. 10, and it eventually gets unpleasant. On the TV, I don't know: I run all the audio through a tuner and it's hard to see the numbers from the couch. Besides, I think it measures in dB, which I don't understand. For most shows, I think it's somewhere in the -30s.

I opened my ancient danger a little earlier in my latest colony than I normally do. They were the first mechanoids my six colonists had faced, but there were only a few and we won fairly easily. There was a plasma sword on the floor and inside a hermetic crate I found...this. Hoo boy, did my wealth jump.
