but it just isn't part of the cis comp het system

Absolutely agree and the middle class thing isn't wrong. Though funny enough before it became more mainstream known many places in which good munches and workshops in my city happened (often under labels somewhat different to polyamory) they were from leftists, sometimes feminist, sometimes autonomous somewhat anarchist groups. So your point about a feminist polyamory which is an alternative to both the official and inofficial polygamy (think Elon Musk or Donald Trump) as well as the patriarchial polyamory which is exclusionary in terms of gender identities in practice does really vibe with me.

it just isn't part of the cis comp het system

Absolutely.

There would of course be challenges brought in in addition to other points that poly means exclusion of neurodivergent people, not only due to sane-ism, but due to the non materialist idea that enough communication and talking about problems does fix them as example.

It is easy to think that, but it was mostly his father who controlled the wealth. Osama himself had dozens of siblings:

Bin Laden was one of more than 50 children of Muhammad bin Laden, a self-made billionaire who, after immigrating to Saudi Arabia from Yemen as a labourer, rose to direct major construction projects for the Saudi royal family.

I would say part of 2LGBTQIA*+, but doesn't quite feel queer to me. Still very real struggles and contradictions in the topic.

Did you know that as bigamists aren't allowed entry in the USA?

Planning to Practice Polygamy in the U.S. Makes U.S. Immigrant Visa Applicants Inadmissible. Anyone seeking an immigrant visa (lawful permanent residence or a green card) who plans to come to the U.S. and practice polygamy is considered inadmissible (barred from U.S. entry). (See I.N.A. Section 212(a)(10)(A).)

This of course also has Islamophobic connotations, but not only those.

    Agha Khan Development Network

The Aga Khan operates a large horse racing and breeding operation at his estate Aiglemont, in the town of Gouvieux in the Picardy region of France – about 4 kilometres (2+1⁄2 miles) west of the Chantilly Racecourse. In 1977, he paid £1.3 million for the bloodstock owned by Anna Dupré and in 1978, £4.7 million for the bloodstock of Marcel Boussac.[82]

The Aga Khan is an ardent yachtsman. He co-founded the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo, Sardinia in 1967. He also commissioned a 164-foot yacht, Alamshar, named after a prized racehorse of his, with a price tag of £200 million. The cost and maintenance are partly covered by chartering. The yacht was advertised as having a top speed of 60 knots, capable of setting a new transatlantic speed record.[citation needed] It reached a speed in excess of 55 knots in its initial trials but despite the claims, it was never intended for transatlantic speed records as it does not have the range.

Forbes describes the Aga Khan as one of the world's fifteen richest royals, and the most recent estimate of his net worth is $13.3 billion.[13] He is unique among the richest royals in that he does not preside over a geographic territory.[14] He owns hundreds of racehorses, valuable stud farms, an exclusive yacht club on Sardinia,[60] Bell Island in the Bahamas,[61] two Bombardier jets, a £100 million high speed yacht Alamshar, and several estates around the world

In the 1990s, the Aga Khan had a group of US$400 a night Italian luxury hotels, called Ciga. Currently the Aga Khan, through his for-profit AKFED, is the largest shareholder in the Serena Hotels chain.[64] The Aga Khan's racing horse businesses bring in considerable income.[65] He owns and operates the largest horse racing and breeding operation in France, the French horse auction house, Arqana, Gilltown Stud near Kilcullen in Ireland, and other breeding/stud farms in Europe

He married a Thyssen, yes as in Thyssen Krupp a Nazi collaborating company focused on the war goals and used plenty of forced labour. Honestly I doubt that even what is financed via 10% of much poorer people's income than his that is done via the AKDN means he is a good guy.

AKFED is part of AKDN. He literally uses poor peoples money to build hotel chains for the rich and ultra rich and also is more interested in his own vanity and consumption than the people.

In the early 2000s and before it without the social media as it is now you were very disconnected. This means that perpetrators could easily hide and you couldn't contact other victims. Also feminism wasn't as integrated into society as it is now.

I went into the thread. You defended Nazis and argued that it makes sense that the FRG (west Germany) had so many Nazis in control of the government, police, judicative, and companies. While there were alternatives (believe me as someone living in Germany and having informed myself about that I know it). You also moved your goal posts and tried to diminish influences of other states i.e. the US (which you nationalist rise above others). All in all you would be okay in the instance, but get back lash when you kept up the way to jump from one to the other.

That you try to ignore those actions and the responses to your comments fits that lemmy users arguing against hexbear are deflecting heavily from their own responsibility and their own actions.

Your points in regards to both Russia&Ukraine are also not true (else you would directly link to it, and then there is no consensus in the hexbear userbase neither) and liking the CFR article is also not showing anything about hexbear (who - if you do search for it - are actually linking the UN report as well as the Chinese answer in regards to the Uigurs in their threads and comments about it).

I would just like to say that I do enjoy the community this site did create. Of course there are areas I disagree with and would've a stern face, but I think the base line antifascism is quite good and established, as is the removal of clear cut reactionary content.

This is the opposite of what happens in a leftist German social media site currently in which self declared Anti-Leftists are allowed to post and are allowed to attend several events.

/Wall of text as kind of a conscious stream

So not long ago I became a godparent (or whatever the materialist way to phrase it is). What I noticed is that the people involved are turning into hangover, sleep deprived pieces of human flesh they haven't been before. Them becoming like that is a harsh contrast to a cute polycule I know which still had all the annoying yelling things, but which were able due to their social and material relations have rest for some parts of the poly cule and also a good social network which reduced a lot of the stress that my friends experience now.

Since we are not living exactly close by any support of me would not be on the same scale as someone who is closer by and could actually have lasting qualitative input and share of reproductive work to be done.

Anything I write is not new, but it really is absurd how two people working nearly full time (even though one gets parent time by the German state law of 2005 or so) are supposed to care for a little crying human. It also is doubly absurd remembering that many walls of social housing (like the block I grew up in) are thin enough to hear your upper and lower neighbours kid's scream when they are very young.

The economic cultural system of the "civilized world" or however that other thread dunking on the syllabus of a course put it does amount to sleep deprivation torture and is good at stress testing the social relationship of the people co-parenting a new born, toddler etc. it also makes it kinda hard to have alone and bonding time, which in turn does strengthen if something at all, bonds with ones friends instead of with the co-parenting partner (which can be good to a point). Arguments about "in earlier times the grandparents did care for children" don't really work in industrial societies in which grandparent would've died to exposure as Engels thought us.

Anyhow the material reasons for two person couples caring for children are partially enshrined in housing codes and the politics and economic abilities to acquire housing - be it by buying, building or renting. Alternative models or the "grandparent" model are made more and more impossible with the current basically global social economic conditions. But if we take Germany or the US alternatives are hardly possible. This is not only cause of the way cities are built for cars instead of pedestrians, not also cause of racist history, but also cause of the focus of housing which is not capital nor energy efficient, but is a home for a family which is understood as cis hetero man and wife and offspring.

Will sleep on a shitty couch to give them a bit more time to chill together and catch up on sleep. I do will bring my own Oropax though.
