Is it possible to add the option to store all user activity associated with my account locally?

When I go to my profile offline it's completely empty. I can't see any posts I uploaded or any of my old comments, which is a shame since we usually engage with the content that appeals to us the most. Is seems only natural that my own posts and comments should be available to me offline.

I am currently writing this comment whithout any internet connection and really looking forward to see how this comment will be posted tomorrow when I get back to work and connect to the WiFi again. 🤩

Update: Trying to post this comment while being offline yesterday just gave me an error message instead of adding it to the "offline actions" queue. I had to post this comment manually after connecting to WiFi.

It was already metric from the start before any mathematical simplification was done, so the metric system was definitely practical here.

It's really good more people are talking about Lemmy on Reddit. It gives Lemmy more exposure and more and more users are making the switch from Reddit to Lemmy because of it! 🎉

People are more ready now than ever before.

I haven't been a moderator for any community on Lemmy, so I don't know if this feature already exists or not, but I think it would be very useful for moderators to be able merge communities. Users from the old communities should be automatically subscribed to the newly merged one, while the old communities gets removed.

This requires some way for mods to send merge request to mods in other communities, and for those mods to accept that request if they want to.

Every unique post should of course remain unchanged in the new merged community, with all its votes and comments intact. Duplicate posts however should always get merged if they belong to the same user, meaning that now the merged post will likely have more comments and votes than any of the posts it was merged from.

There should also be an option for mods to move a community to a different server.

With this, we can make Lemmy much easier to navigate for it's users by merging multiple similar communities while also increasing the activity in those merged communities since they will now have more users.

Since Lemmy is still growing, a lot of the infrastructure isn't in place yet. This means communities will exist on servers available at the time of their creation rather than the more suitable server for that community that might show up in the future. Ability to migrate communities (and users) from one server to another is essential for Lemmy to stay decentralised.

Det gäller dock att komma ihåg att det faktiskt inte är personen som är med i resultatet, utan en AI genererad avbildning av personen.

För personer som utsätts ofrivilligt kan det orsaka stora skador. Bade känslomässigt, mentalt eller rent av professionellt. Uöver att personen kanske känner sig kränkt, kan det kosta arbete, relationer och fan vet allt. Personen ifraga riskerar även att bli trakasserad, förföljd eller far en hotbild mot sig.

Detta gäller ju även tex. memes där bilden av en person är involverad. Bilden på flickan som ler framför ett brinnande hus tex. har spridits över hela världen utan att någon frågat henne om samtycke. Varför är den ok att dela men inte en fejkad AI bild på Ebba?

Risken är även oehört stort, eller t.om garanterat, att dessa media hamnar pa diverse porrsidor där det utnyttjas till fullo. Vilket kan generera ännu mer skador för offret. Och vi alla vet, att när nagot en gang hamnat pa internet, kommer det att för alltid stanna pa internet.

Att bli en politiker är nog farligare vad gäller hotbilden mot en snarare än att ha en fejkad AI version av sig själv på en porrsida. Dessutom är porr nischat. Det är endast de största porrstjärnorna som blir "kända" utanför sin nisch. En AI genererad bild på någon som inte är känd i porrvärlden får ingen större permanent spridning, speciellt inte utanför sin nisch.

Ponera att nagon hittar en bild pa dig pa internet. Denna person generar sen en AI video med ditt ansikte i en barnporrfilm och sprider den pa internet. Skulle du vara ok med det? Det är ju AI genererat och inte sant, och det är bara för att nagon ska kunna visualiera en fantasi.

Precis. Jag har inga problem med det eftersom det inte är jag i videon. Det är helt enkelt inte mitt problem, utan personen som genererat videon är den som äger problemet.

Utöver att denna film sprids pa internet, sa hamnar kanske ditt namn tillsammans med adress, telefonnummer namn och information pa partner och famillj pa nagon skev hemsida där folk registrerar sexförbrytare och pedofiler.

Detta är dock något helt annat. Att bli doxad kan ju hända ändå, speciellt om du är en offentlig person som Ebba är. Har inget med AI bilderna att göra. Det du pratar om här är att använda AI för att falsk anklaga någon för ett brott. Det är ju inte olagligt att ha bikini på sig. Inte att vara naken heller för den delen.
