Yeah fuck Toyota, they have been actively steering consumers away from BEVs to their hybrids for decades so that they can keep that sweet replacement parts cash rolling in. Here in Australia when they finally launched an EV, they gave it a ridiculous alphanumeric name that nobody remembers (and I refuse to look out up) - almost like they wanted it to fail. I'll never own a Toyota again.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm cis but an ally, so that's an interesting perspective that I can see merit in. Understanding a possible cause for someone's 'differences' does not reflect on their worth in any way.

I'm Australian and an adult (by a few decades) and I use a VPN to visit adult sites, but only since the stupid age verification checks came in. Sorry Albo, you don't get to know what floats my boat.

But I'm sure the kids haven't figured out VPNs yet. /s

Anne McCaffrey's The Ship Who Sang has children with severe physical disabilities given new lives, bodies, and possibilities as 'shell people' - brains grafted into ships. An amazing new view on what it is to be human.

I have just finished Peter F. Hamilton's latest excellent duology The Archimedes Engine and The Helium Sea and slower than light interstellar travel, and the time dilation that ensues, is a constant theme. There is some hand-wavy magic technology for speeding ships up to 99% of lightspeed (and slowing them down again) using massive gates, which means the main parts of the story are told over decades.

His ego was so big he thought he knew better than the legal system. Every one of the rules he broke was there to protect the integrity of the legal system and ongoing court matters. Hinch was an egotistical asshole.
