Granted I don't know much about the foundation, I wasn't expecting such an organism, financed through donations, mostly built by the good will of contributors, to have the same values as amazon.
It's fast, polished, really quite impressive. Maybe too AI-centric for my taste, and yet I like how the results are presented, and they were quite relevant at times... and bad too. For example I was searching for chatons.org (software) and it only gave me results for kittens* (chatons in french). While recognizing I was in France but giving all answers in English.
I wonder though, if I want to search something simple, say I forgot the exact URL of a website, how much ressources are being wasted explaining what the website does instead of simply giving me a link?
I like how Kagi does it, when I need a short AI answer I add a questionmark to my query.
I'll keep testing this, it looks very promising. Best of luck to you!
*And the AI saying kittens are hairless at birth? I don't use google so I assume this is the type of answers it gives, man that's terrible
My small server: indian hosting, server located in France, .eu from a french registrar, and yet it shows US for hosting and email

observers suggest 1.4 million Russian soldiers have been killed since the war began
What a terrible article. It's 1.4 million casualties. Also russian deaths in June is very high (26k), but not 40k. Again, those are casualties.
Apparently in this case it's the Council of the European Union who's responsible (aka Council of Ministers. Not the European Council. And not the Council of Europe, but everyone knows that), and the Parliament is against it.
After negotiations on Chat Control 2.0 – i.e., the mandatory, suspicionless scanning of encrypted communication – stalled due to persistent resistance in the EU Parliament, the Council of Ministers is now pushing forward with a legal maneuver.
I hate those tax havens in the EU. How is it possible some countries fuck every other country over and help the rich become immensely more rich, while comparatively getting scraps of the robbery.
I've experienced countless times a native Linux game not working because of a dependency issue, an outdated version of some library that's not in the distribution repositories anymore. And it's often very hard or impossible to find it.
I would say it happened with over half the native games I've tried.
So unless it's a popular game with good support, don't bother and go with wine.
