Check again whether windows reenabled fast boot. Maybe disable secure boot in bios as well.
In grub recovery mode, see which drives are there and try to cd into them.

Many jobs have this weird, culty feeling where we all pretend work is great but you can't say it out loud.
In my last job most of my colleagues were pretty open about how much it sucks to have to work but most of them (developers) earned very well and were saving up to quit.
