You can develop the app (as in write the code) on any platform but Apple made it so iOS apps can only be compiled from Apple devices. There's no particular technical reason I'm aware of just they've designed their proprietary compiler that way and haven't released it cross platform.

Tbf my copy of GTA V for PC came on 7 discs back in 2014, so I guess it's not unheard of for them. My gaming PC didn't have a disc drive so that was a fun start. Multi-disc games are worse on consoles though for sure

    That's my point.

Regularly going to ATMs / banks is demonstrably less convenient for both consumers and businesses and safeguarding the cash presents a security risk, especially for small businesses.

But the alternative of digital payments comes at a huge cost to privacy.

Exactly, it's not only deceptive but also ignoring the fact that many visitors are likely not earning on par with people in New York and are making decisions about where to eat based on the advertised prices.

All these bars and restaurants talking about how busy they've been and have massively increased business during the world cup. They're aware of the tipping problem yet still somehow can't find the cash to cover the difference so that their staff get a normal wage.

They could share some of their revenue windfall with the wait staff. But instead they complain to news outlets and add an automatic 20% markup without prior notice to extract even more money from the visitors.

Security Privacy. They are distinct concepts.

For example, tokenised and biometrically authenticated transactions are more secure and more convenient than cash payments which are comparatively riskier, easier to forge, easier to steal etc.

However, this allows banks and payment providers to keep tabs on your transaction data, which cash does not.

Convenience and privacy are usually at opposite ends, security can come at either end depending on the medium.
