that's reasonable!

here's a tip: look into immutable/atomic distros!

these are linux systems designed to be resistant to random breakdowns.

they prevent modifying system packages in runtime, meaning they require a reboot, after changes to system packages.

why is this an advantage, rather than an inconvenience?

because they allow for rollback when something breaks.

so IF anything breaks, you can always just roll back one version (i think about 1-3 versions, ususally) and you're up and running again immediately!

and since gaming is your thing:

take a look at bazzite!

hassle free, gaming focused!

everything you need for that pre-installed.

one thing you will probably need to do, just once for each game, is set the compatibility option in the games' steam settings to "proton X" (where X is usually either experimental or hotfix, whichever works/you like)

this is (or at least has been for me) a one-time-thing, that I've never had to touch again for any game. and it just works!

the german instances have to be extremely careful when it comes to anything jewish related, because the instance admins could face jailtime if they're not careful.

feddit.org is hosted in vienna; Austria has extremely strict laws against anything that could be considered antisemitism.

that's why they are so touchy on the subject:

they have to cover their asses legally.

    no, i don't.

you claimed that haptic learning and digital learning are equal.

    that's the claim.

and you provided zero evidence for that claim.

claims are not true by default, just because they are "balanced" or "neutral".

    what matters is:

    • what is the newer claim?
    • what is the less established claim?

your claim that digital learning is at least equal to haptic learning is, by definition, the newer claim, so it needs evidence to back it up.

it must be the newer claim, because people have been learning through haptic media for literally millenia, but digital learning is a very recent development.

so claiming they are equal needs to be backed up by evidence.

or in other words: you pulled that claim out of thin air. bring the facts or get lost.

there's no such thing as a default assumption of "neutrality". straight up not a thing that exists.

what does exist, and what you're mosst likely mixing up here, is the mediocrity principle. that's en entirely different concept and has nothing to do with "neutrality", because no such concept exists in scientific contexts.

"neutral" is not a concept in nature, so it's not a concept in research either.

there was for a long time a similar concept for U.S. broadcasters, where they were obligated to try and provide balanced reporting, but that also has nothing to do with research.

if you can provide a source for that "neutrality" claim, I'd be thrilled to learn something new! but for now that's yet another [citation needed]

almost like words don't mean anything to them...that kinda reminds me of this other group of extremists that don't care what words mean! almost like they've got something in common or something....

tankie doesn't mean "communist", it means red fascist.

and cowbee thinks, by his own admission, that's the same thing.

no, that's exactly it: the entire franchise is built on being fundamentally a single player game and highly customizable.

players, reasonably, expect that from the series.

also, God Emperor Todd^TM^ promised you would never have to see another player if you didn't want to...which - and you will never guess this - was a complete and utter lie.

so on top of going against the established series formula players were also lied to about the game being playable without the MMO aspect.

the FO76 launch really was a legendary shitshow...

oh, sry, i read that wrong!

yes, that's a voyager link, although that should probably open in the browser version by default, since voyager, afaik, does have a web version...

fyi: it's not malice, there's actually a good reason for generating these links!

it's so different instances can be shared through the same home instance, i.e.: so i can share a link from feddit.org with someone on lemmy.world, and they can still access it within the same client, through their own home instance without requiring a new login, etc.

it's a limitation of lemmy and voyager offers a workaround ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
