    Why? With Ubisoft making it, it couldnt ever hold even half of a candle to Elden Ring or Wind Waker.

    You realize that just because those are the artistic influences, it doesn't mean the game would be anything like Elden Ring or Wind Waker right? Core gameplay, story, mechanics, etc. You don't have to compare games against other games to measure your enjoyment.

    What I do know is Ubisoft makes some pretty damn good games.

    Ubisoft used to make good games. Not exactly sure what happened, but now they make mediocre-at-best games.

    No they really still do. Odyssey wasn't that long ago. The Far Cry series are fantastic; 5 and 6 especially so.

    Far Cry 5 and 6 are the worst rated games of the whole series and illustrate that Ubisoft have no new ideas. Decent games but with too much repetitive elements and stories that can’t hold a candle to the earlier instalments of the series.

    I'm not really interested in their ratings. I'm not convinced that game reviewers actually like playing video games.

    Additionally, if you've ever played 5, you'll know that it's actually one of the BEST in the series.

    Sure, the mechanics and gameplay can get repetitive, but the story and writing are top notch.

    Reviews for 5 and 6 are lower among both reviewers and among players, with players showing more negativity towards the newer instalments than reviewers do.

    The story of 5 and 6 were both criticised for having immense potential but both eventually going nowhere.

    All that however does not mean you are not allowed to enjoy the games, and I’m happy you did, but Ubisoft hasn’t come close to the exceptional games they made back in the day for a long time now.

    I appreciate your comments and I'm curious what you'd consider one of the great Ubisoft titles of the past? What was a truly exceptional Ubisoft game?

    That may have been what they pitched to investors. There's no way Ubisoft would have pulled something like that off without ruining it.
