That's sweet. When I had cats, they knew my alarm meant food was coming in the near future, so they began screaming incessantly instead to make sure I got up as quickly as possible.

Feed your cats in the evening instead of in the morning

Or smaller amounts many times a day, if you can.

I do one dose at noon or right before leaving for work, another a couple hours before bed.

Never first thing in the morning.

This. I bought an auto feeder for my girlfriend's cat specifically so kitty could get fed more often and my girlfriend could actually get a full night's sleep instead of getting woken up daily at 3am. I ended up setting 5 smaller feedings throughout the day and kitty is much happier and not screeching about starving nearly as much.

I'm on the other end where she's getting a bit old and needs her sleep. Will stay in bed longer when possible, and wait for a sleep cycle to finish.

23h of the day my one cat is standoffish. Between 7am and 8am while I'm getting ready he is the clingiest cat in the world. Im not complaining though haha
