I spoke to a therapist about this. They said that it is a pretty common mechanism that the mind will use to provide a sense of control to someone that has been cheated on and still has trust issues.

I don't have that issue, but I do have PTSD and my mind does some really weird shit sometimes to make sense of problematic emotions.

I dont think its a big problem as long as it doesnt cause harm. The main difference between an "unhealthy attraction" and a "kink" is that a kink is more like an "unusual attaction".
