Even worse: it is usually not a byproduct of capitalism but an actually functional and necessary aspect of it. Capitalism creates poverty to prevent workers from having too much power and taking action that could hurt profit margins. Some levels of profit margins even make the whole system go into crisis. Capitalism itself developed through policies like enclosure (theft of the commons, a means of subsistence) and the conversion of women into unpaid domestic workers.

It's not that hard to swallow.
Not only of capitalism, but of any system that allows hoarding power and repression against those unsatisfied with it.
