So you're in favour of the death penalty and capital punishment? Or if not, explain the difference (other than the obvious fact that you're not even allowing your enemies a fair trial).

Honestly, what has the left become?

In civil disobedience, in actual revolution, there is resistance. You act, they resist. That's how violence is justified in revolutionary literature and it makes sense.

Declaring open season on anyone you disagree with politically is a dark mirror of revolutionary resistance.

Fighting fascists with lethal force is not incitement of violence. It is act of self-defense and defense of the ones you love and care about. People who apologize for fascists directly, or in the "enlightened centrist" way are no better than the fascists themselves. If you find yourself defending Nazis you should check yourself, otherwise you'll soon find yourself one of them.

Tolerance is a peace treaty and the nazis are violating the peace therefore your post is BASED AF

  • People who support systemic violence should be afraid tbh, that's not an "incitement to violence", it's taking out the trash.

If you think that the answer isn’t violence you should know that neither is your silence.

    Stand up. Speak out.

I stole it from somewhere else at some point. Here's the oldest result I could find with a reverse image search: https://old.reddit.com/r/COMPLETEANARCHY/comments/9hamcw/antifa_propaganda_poster_1944/

It’s more like calling for the execution of the executive of a video game company.

Or fantasies about the graphic, gruesome death of some public politician who’s just a… regular human being, with a family. Not perfect, but not literally Hitler.

    I don’t think it’s funny, at all.

Like, I’m all for killing Nazis, but Lemmy goes waaaay into “squick” territory.

It’s legit scary to me, and I’m more politically extreme than like 99% of the general population. But every time I bring it up, the community seems to double down on it or dismiss it as a non issue (like here).

I guess I’m just not welcome here if that makes me uncomfortable?

It depends on the capital owned by that person. If they're just a high level accountant or a minor player with little influence, they're not worth the trouble. If they're a major shareholder at a company that's exploits its workers, then a lot is justified if it results in the end of the exploitation (it likely wouldn't tbf). It doesn't matter if they work in the games industry or the fossil fuels industry; the owning class needs to have their power stripped from them, and they aren't gonna give it willingly. That will only ever happen through violence, be it state or non state, threats or actions. There is no other way to accomplish it, and anyone who thinks we can do it peacefully is wrong.

As far as public politicians go, many of them gleefully pen laws that lead to the deaths and ruin of innocent people. As the right to freely vote and elect alternatives to these ghouls gets further and further eroded, it might become literally impossible to remove them by voting rather than practically so. If the only ones allowed political power are people that terrorize the population with the law, then what voice do the people have? If the only party in charge is a Nazi party, then shouldn't you be ok with killing them?

What I will agree on is that fantasizing about punishing people is not helpful. Terrible people cannot be made to feel the weight of their sins, only prevented from doing more terrible things. If all the kings and lords willingly gave their wealth and power back to the workers and civilians, then it would be wrong to seek retribution. It's also unlikely that killing a terrible person or two will really change things. A lone act can only ever be a statement, terrorism of the ruling class.

However, that also means that we shouldn't consider if someone is a sympathetic person, only the totality of their past and potential future actions. They might be a good spouse and a good parent, but if they are responsible for imprisoning minorities and starving children, then they need be stopped. Billionaires and the politicians that support them are orders of magnitude more dangerous to humanity than serial killers, and need to be treated more harshly than they are. If unpleasant violence is the best way to stop them, then I think it's wrong to be against that.

Favorite part about your post, because it's just pure fact. There just isn't any other viable solution, even if many of us wish it was otherwise.

Examples please. Also, blaming the entirety of Lemmy for, as an example, my call for Israel to stop being a country, is the same error that got me kicked off Reddit. Context matters.

If I'm calling for them to stop being a country because of their religion or ethnicity, then I'm a bigot and a Nazi and should indeed be removed.

If I'm calling for the end of the theocratic state that holds one group above all others, then I can be reasoned with.

"If we kill the bad guys we become bad guys too! We should just tell them to stop so we look good, send them somewhere else where we won't have to look bad anymore or just look away until they fix themselves"

Is this your point? You're advocating for fair fight and mutual respect with psychopaths, this isn't some mistake or misunderstanding on their end, it's the plan

Doesn't seem like that to me. In an ideal world we would be able to give (ex-)nazis a chance at redemption. Probably not actual forgiveness, probably a lot of them would not take it - a tragedy. We do have to accept that this is not an ideal world and it might just happen that it would come to actual violence and death. I think it's fair to look at people who laugh at the concept of killing a person, that deny humanity to others and be worried. Now, is it wrong to deny humanity to nazis? I personally don't know, it certainly doesn't automatically equate you to them, but in an ideal world it would be wrong. Its also much easier when it's a concept of a nazi and an actual person, that one friend that got pulled into a really bad crowd and so on. This kind of memes are a very simplified narrative, and that just sometimes does not satisfy some folk

I completely agree with you on giving ex nazis chance to redeem themselves, as long as it's far away from any position of power or authority

The issue is in getting a nazi to become ex-nazi, you can't do it peacefully or fairly, you might not even do it altogether because the odds, the systems, the motives are all stacked against you

You're not wrong you're just setting the bar very high for resistance while looking away at how low fascists moved theirs, with everyone fully knowing they'll happily kick over the whole scaffold holding it up like they did time and time again, the bar is just symbolic to them and the goal is to win and execute all other competitors at the end

It's not about who's moral or right, i mean sure you can make it about it you're just not going to get anywhere while you're growing weaker and the cage is getting smaller with time, it's about making a change, and you'll never achieved it unless you come to terms with how weak the resistance to fascism(and frankly everyone else not fascist) is and why it is, if anyone is going to burn a billionaire at the stake invite me please

I was defending OP more than voicing my own opinion, as I already said, I am not sure what exactly would be right, I just vibe with their perspective (at least more than some other people here) because I do see leftists voice their opinions in infuriatingly careless ways, which results in alienating some people and thus conversations like in this thread here. I don't think this meme is particularly atrocious, but it might just have been the proverbial straw that broke camel's back, I certainly know how that feels

I see what you mean. That's a wild energy. I get what they're trying to say, and i also get what you mean

And yeah no I hadn't stumbled upon that kind of tone until now.

Not that I'm surprised. I read the writings on the wall, literally. Have you noticed how much graffiti concern the literal end of the world we're heading towards? The anxiety is deep, desperation is in the air.

But yeah i see what you mean

So coy about everything. Name examples and where theyre from, because both matter greatly. The first one could be talking about the rapist blizzard execs. I don't believe in the death penalty for multiple reasons, but im not shedding a tear over them. And the politician could be so many people including trump and gee i wonder why people would say such a thing about him and his ilk.

Youre either making things up to feel superior, misattributing them to blahaj, or just a plain bad actor with either the goal of protecting pedophiles or protecting tessersct. Could be any of those truly
