Yeah, I hate that they're being called that. I know a couple visually impaired people who have used them to great effect but one of them has stopped because he doesn't want to be seen as a perv. I'm face blind so I've long fantasized about something that could tell me who I'm talking to, but that's "creepy". It doesn't help that meta is the main one and it's always online. I just want a local offline model that helps me recognise friends and acquaintances so that I can greet them properly and not have everyone think I must secretly hate them because I ignore them in public.
