Dominance of what exactly? There are countless games that don't use this garbage.

    It probably means dominance in terms of how it "won" against piracy by being so difficult to bypass on games that had it that very few people knew how to do it. And even then, it took a lot of time and hard work to the point where some of them gave up.

    In all seriousness though, I wish the article gave a little more info then it did. I'm curious on how analyzing how games operate through the layer could somehow bypass the anticheat. I'm all for it if it means less rely on it and more games are supported on linux but, I have my doubts.

    Just checked out the forum mentioned in the article and it works, I haven't had a chance to try yet. But many people are having success with a number of games and should work with any distro.
