Long load times + blank comments in federated instances' posts (midwest.social)

I wanted to participate in multiple posts on other instances but when I pulled them up, only the posts themselves and none of their comments would federate/show here in my account. Is this a normal experience of this server? This didn't seem to be a problem in the past, from what I can remember...

Midwest.social doesn't seem to have any bot protection (Cloudflare captcha or Aunbis etc), so you are probably getting slammed with bots scraping for LLM training 😟
