An interesting thing to me is the difference between this and intuition, which might come across as the same thing to some.

Intuition is something I have come to realize is more important than I thought in real life. It's mostly experience based on experience based on experience, by which you can quickly assess a familiar situation without having a direct detailed reasoning per se, but it's also kind of a gut feeling. But boy if I ain't right in my field of expertise purely based on that gut 95% of the time.

The difference is though, intuition is something you should be able to somewhat logically explain and reason about if you take the time. Still, even that is harder than I would like to admit.

I’ve literally seen people say “I’m not here to tell anyone else what’s what, but for myself, in my heart, I know XYZ.”

This suggests that the person doesn’t care whether they are living in the same reality as others. The phrase “my truth” is sometimes used as well.

Personally I’m horrified by someone who will openly declare what they believe but then try to act like they aren’t making a statement about what’s true. It probably actually means that they just think everyone else is wrong. But it could also be taken to mean that they don’t even subscribe to the idea of base, shared reality being the same for everyone. Either way is pretty bad.

Muslim, Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, and every other religious fantasy club are packed with people who are absolutely sure that they're right based on their own miraculous experience and deeply held convictions.

People have been absolutely convinced of nonsense throughout history. None of the fantasy clubs are right.
