    I retired my last printer in 2004, when I realized the only things people wanted me to print were pron or fake documents..

    Once you have turned on the printer, and after the tray lifts (or you have put the manual feed load into the open position), the transfer unit becomes charged and the fuser rapidly increases in temperature. The printer is now ready to begin expelling its toner, via the transfer unit, to the face of the print medium, where the intense heat will then cause it to fix permanently.
