This is about gatekeeping. A few (!) activists in the LGBTQ+ selfishly only seek their own liberation, but when another person of another minority comes along (e.g. trans, bisexual, asexual, intersex, etc.), they don't care and might even justify bigotry on their own. Example: The LGB Alliance. They're anti-trans, selfishly ignoring contributions of trans ppl. This is intentional to keep it more open to interpretation. Eunice just represents a minority also seeking liberation but is being punished for for selfish reasons. Also, you could replace "gay" with any other identity and it still works. I’m NOT saying it's only gay people guilty of this.
