Pretty much described everything in the title:

    • Dufour Frozen Pastry; very buttery
    • walnut honey cream cheese base
    • sliced figs
    • generously applied fig jam over the figs

Baked as per pastry instructions. Simple and delicious.

Did you know that figs have dead wasps in them! In order for the fruit to grow, they require fig wasps. Fig wasps lay their eggs inside of the fig, pollinating the fig in the process before dying inside the fruit. Then, grubs hatch inside of the fig. Most of the grubs will mature and leave, but some, like male fig wasps, will never leave the fig and die inside it.
