Slow loading pictures (lemmy.ca)

Not sure if this is a me thing, app thing, or instance/Lemmy thing. But when I open a picture, it's super pixelated and text is unreadable for anywhere from a few seconds to maybe 5 to 10, and then it loads and is readable. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think the dev added this image pre-rendering to address comments about data consumption and help performance on lower-end devices; because this preloading wasn't always th case.

When on Wi-Fi, data consumption normally isn't an issue and it'd be nice to have an option to just preload full images on Wi-Fi. They had this in Sync.
