The Witches of Dathomir are the only real new thing with the force since the first movie. You can count Bendu and the Mortis Gods, but they were very minimal. It seems like only Filoni wants to expand the universe.

Hell, I think Season 1 of Star Wars Visions had every episode about the Jedi/Sith, it wasn’t until season 2 that they started breaking out of it.
