It is very nice, however, the problem with self hosting your monitoring solution is self evident.

Uptime robot is a good hosted implementation although they do charge for a lot of basic features - feels like they haven’t quite nailed the monetisation aspect.

Anyone got any other recommendations for monitoring self hosted services?
