[–] BackOnMyBS@lemmy.autism.place 29 points 2 years ago (4 children) I'm jealous of anyone that can nap. It seems so nice and recharging. You just lay down and sleep for a little, then wake up feeling better. permalink fedilink source hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] jaybone@lemmy.world 15 points 2 years ago (1 child) Yeah… permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] theangryseal@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago 9 times out of 10 I don’t sleep when I try. If I do sleep it is because I’m exhausted and I wake up feeling worse than when I went to sleep. When I was younger though, I could nap half a day if I wanted. Depression! The nap maker! Now that I’m not depressed I barely sleep. permalink fedilink source parent [–] bighatchester@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago I take 30 minute naps on my lunch breaks all the time . Sometimes I wake up a little confused but it is refreshing. I also work from home so I'm sleeping in my own bed . Also having a newborn any extra sleep is appreciated. permalink fedilink source parent [–] MisterFrog@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago Naps are not recommended by sleep psychologists if you are someone who has trouble falling asleep at night anyway, unless you are extremely fatigued, and in those cases, the earlier in the day the better so you can recharge your sleep drive before night. But yeah, I too wish I could give myself an actual refresh during the day with a siesta, but alas no. I am not a sleep psychologist and this isn't medical advice, second-hand info. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Classy@sh.itjust.works 1 point 2 years ago My sleep schedule I've been doing for years now is to sleep maybe 4-5 max hours at night and take a 20 minute nap after work. permalink fedilink source parent
