That's the problem with the republican solution of safety achieved through everyone having a gun. It's just too weak of a solution. Everyone needs to carry at least two guns!

    what if the second gun also gets stolen, should we also carry a knife to protect against double gun theives?

    And those guns end up whispering to the sickest among us about how fun they’d be if they took them to a school.

    You new here? I kinda like that you still have enough optimism to feel a sense of shock. I'm pretty jaded - this country's love affair with guns runs so deep, I can't even imagine meaningful change. Even the democratic presidential candidate and her running mate are gun slingers despite being pro regulation. Some small changes would be welcome, don't get me wrong, but I don't see us getting anywhere near what more civilized countries have achieved within the next few decades at least.
