Why wouldn't she? The people she's looking to for support look at them all as if they're either:complicit in the coverup (stolen election) or the brave patriots fighting for their country. If she smiles, she's playing the patriot part.

Maybe it's just cynicism talking, but these people are playing their supporters... not trying to prove right from wrong.

She knew that people like you would see the photo, so she smiled. I think it's a mistake to treat it as anything but calculated.

It’s a PR move. If you know your mugshot will be on TV, you don’t want to look guilty or like a crook. They already claim the charges are false and a Democrat plot, so smiling is the best option of a bad situation.

I recall the guy that got busted for meth but he knew it was a bag of kitty litter, he had a huge smile on his face.
