Your spine is meant to be straight at night, so no pillow is the way to go. It is also helpful if you have breathing issues. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] gun@lemmy.ml 6 points 3 years ago I take it you sleep on your back or stomach then? Sure it's also bad for you but man do i get some insane sleep and dreams from it permalink fedilink source parent [–] PersnickityPenguin@lemm.ee 3 points 3 years ago Try that when you're old. Side sleeping leads to extreme neck pain /stiffness the next day because your neck isn't straight when sleeping without a pillow. permalink fedilink source parent [–] MindSkipperBro12@lemmy.world 1 point 3 years ago We’re meant to die by Polio and Smallpox at age 12 but we don’t follow that living standard, now don’t we? permalink fedilink source parent [–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 2 points 3 years ago I find sleeping on my recliner actually feels the best because my head is kept aligned with my spine better. I've read that in the old days (like 1700s and such) they slept sitting almost upright. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Quentinp@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 years ago My pillow is so thin my wife is like "well just put a towel in the pillowcase" permalink fedilink source parent [–] Nerorero@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 years ago Yeah, way better for my neck permalink fedilink source parent [–] s_s@lemmy.one 1 point 3 years ago* I sleep on my back without a pillow.
