In part, ytp was used as a way to weaponize shitposts against youtube for something they did to upset 4chan. Maybe it was when they introduced ads. But the idea was clear. Edit very long but technically simple videos. Like, 10 hrs of Lloyd making the most annoying sound in the world. Upload it to YouTube. Then open as many tabs of YTP as possible on your PC to effectively DDOS YouTube. If you weren't YTPing, you weren't being a good citizen of the internet.
