That was not an exaggeration huh permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Cheems@lemmy.world 21 points 2 years ago (2 children) To the point where it seems brigaded. The amount of "for a game no one cares about" is insane. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Dalek_Thal@aussie.zone 25 points 2 years ago (2 children) There is definitely a small (and loud) group of people who are very angry this game exists. I assume, based on history, that they're nazis very angry about the presence of same-sex relationships and non-white (as well as gasp! Female characters) in this game. Be great if Valve actually policed its community, becauee this kind of bullshit really shouldn't be okay. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Anafroj@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 years ago* (1 child) I'm actually surprised (and happy) that discussions here are positive. In my experience, gamers (at least those discussing on the web) are the worst audience : they're always angry, always complaining, only ever temporarily satisfied (which is kind of sad, given gaming is supposed to be about leisure and entertainment). I'm a developer and I've been offered several times to join the gaming industry, I always refused : it's an underpaid, overworked job (comparatively to other industries in programming) where your audience hates you. But indeed, it certainly won't get any better in the era of political polarization. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Russianranger@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago Gaming communities online tend to be circle jerking echo chambers that either go full toxic shit-fit mode or full praise mode and shit on anyone with valid criticism. Very rarely do you find something in the middle. Something something misery and company and all that permalink fedilink source parent [–] Skyhighatrist@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 years ago (1 child) Yeah leading up to the release the steam discussions were full of trolls crying "woke" this or "woke" that. Pathetic really. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Blaiz0r@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 years ago Still today the Steam Discussion on this game is full of these posts it's deeply worrying, but at least people are calling themselves out as bigots to be avoided permalink fedilink source parent [–] VelociCatTurd@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago Right lmao, like within the top ten played games on steam of all time and nope nobody cares about it. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Hairyblue@kbin.social [S] 4 points 2 years ago That started with the "bear sex" viral Panel From Hell. Woke are LGBT people, minorities, women in positions of power, druids wearing bear form. And they are not having it in a game they are not playing. 😁 permalink fedilink source parent
