I don't think an Amerikan president could do much even with all that theoretical power; acting against the big bourgeoisie would just lead to being assassinated or neutralized in some other way

I have always thought of the president as a representing a specific cadre of the bourgeoisie that is still 99% in lock step with the rest with a little bit of pentagon infighting sprinkled in (war with Russia vs. war with China, etc.)

Biden does represent the big bourgeoisie in general (they're mostly in agreement AFAIK), like every other president, which is why he was selected; I'm talking about a hypothetical situation where he for some reason stopped being a disgusting person and decided to go off script, in which case they'd deal with him like they did with JFK (who was far from pro-worker, just not quite as obedient as they wanted)
