Pipepipe is an amazing newpipe fork(which is a youtube client) that constantly recieves updates and is stable and relaible.I didn't see much love for this app anywhere so thought i should promote it. (lemmy.ml)

I definetly recommend it. It also has many more settings , features than newpipe . It is in the main repo . Just search pipepipe .

    Ok what all settings have you messed with if you can't remember clear the app data and try to watch a random vid . Let me know what happens .
