People will spend that time scrolling social media, or watching TV, but then complain that they don't have enough time for their own hobbies or well-being. The 5 day, 40 hour working week, is definitely outdated and I would argue for change, but people don't help themselves on this particular topic. Get a life, get some hobbies. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 10 child comments replies: [–] Dettweiler42@lemmy.world 36 points 3 years ago* (2 children) When you get older, you start to understand physically having time for something and mentally having time for something. Most people DO in fact manage to find half an hour to an hour for themselves a day, but need to spend that time trying to unwind or de-stress from an already busy life. Pursuing a hobby during those precious few moments will just add to the already busy day and make things more stressful. Sometimes you just want to sit down in front of your TV or PC for an hour and not talk to anyone or have any obligations before getting back to the grind, and that's the only thing keeping you sane. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] DONTBANTHISACCOUNT@kbin.social 3 points 3 years ago TY Dettweiler Kiss 💋😘 on the cheek permalink fedilink source parent [+] Baconheatedradiator@lemmy.world -12 points 3 years ago (1 child) All I hear are excuses. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Lightor@lemmy.world 4 points 3 years ago Because you've never faced the problem they are explaining.
