They literally said they’re out here “on Thanksgiving”. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] fishos@lemmy.world 19 points 2 years ago (2 children) If you're going to be pedantic, the full quote is "out there on thanksgving", not "out here on thanksgiving". The "there" makes it implied past tense. But I'm sure it's more important to nitpick trivial parts of someones comment on the internet. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] TheCannonball@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago (1 child) Totally agree. We use "here" and "there" to imply distance. So saying "there on Thanksgiving" is implying distance in time from the "here and now". I understood OP immediately and it actually took me time to figure out why the guy who replied mentioned Thanksgiving. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Remmock@kbin.social -3 points 2 years ago See: Above. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Remmock@kbin.social -2 points 2 years ago They edited it after my post, homie. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 years ago (1 child) Hey would you look at that, you're right.
