Shockingly good adaptation. Weird that with this and Poker Face, Peacock (!) has two of my favorite shows this year.

And this is probably the fault of those poor adaptations, seems that videogame adaptations are picking up! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] lori@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 3 years ago Kind of, basically we live in the era of every IP possible getting some kind of adaptation just out of name recognition (and there's not a modern Twisted Metal game to justify it so it could easily have been a nostalgia ploy and nothing else) and frankly I don't think Twisted Metal has the most compelling writing as a video game either so it was a low bar to begin with. Twisted Metal Black has some fun monkey paw ideas but it would be hard to adapt a TV series to just that given that you'd need every contestant to win to see how their wishes go.
