If you dislike the stock OS, or find it too bloated, you can flash LineageOS anytime. Most of the OnePluses are supported. It's a way better experience than any stock Android imho.

Except for the camera quality normally, because all of that A.I. assisted image processing is proprietary code.

Oh yeah, there are GCam variants and such, or even stock ones to sideload. Though I personally don't use them
