They also don't have people influencing them. A whole lot of people had a whole lot of chances to stop that shit.

That is true. But there is evidence he has been leaning towards the extreme right and anti-semitism for quite some time. Much before his most current mental health crisis. The fact he has now been surrounding himself with fascists and Christian nationalists is more a show of how far he has gone, not that those people influenced him to get there per se.
