Could someone explain what's happening? permalink fedilink source hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] donut4ever@lemm.ee 22 points 3 years ago (1 child) Firefox is very busy at the top. It has like 2 or 3 layers, one for the tabs, another for the bookmarks. This person removed the extra crap and gained some space on the top of their browser window. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Dubious_Fart@lemmy.ml 29 points 3 years ago (2 children) uh, the bookmark bar can be easily gotten rid of with 2 clicks. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] jayknight@lemmy.ml 14 points 3 years ago (1 child) Ctrl+Shift+B permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] PlantDna@mander.xyz 13 points 3 years ago (1 child) So, not even one click permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] kautau@lemmy.world 16 points 3 years ago Well, if you have a mechanical keyboard with certain switches it will still be three clicks bad_joke_eel.jpg permalink fedilink source parent [–] Carighan@lemmy.world 8 points 3 years ago It's about the tab- not the bookmarks-bar. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Carighan@lemmy.world 13 points 3 years ago (1 child) They got MS Edge like vertical tabs going, which after also using for nearly a year now I will say should be the default setup on wide/desktop formats. We got more horizontal space than vertical in 16:9 and so on, so it maks no sense to have a second horizontal bar taking up precious vertical space when we can trivially use vertical tabs to use up the abundant space instead. More so because most websites use only a tiny fraction of the horizontal space in their layout anyways (case in point, Lemmy renders the same width whether I got vertical tabs or not). Ever since MS Edge came out I've been looking for this in other browsers, and at least in Firefox I can do it myself, I just wish it was an official thing. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Anemervi@lemmy.world 16 points 3 years ago They got MS Edge like vertical tabs To be fair, vertical tabs has been possible in Firefox for way longer than Edge has even existed. For example this add-on is more than a decade old. permalink fedilink source parent
