[β] obrenden@lemmy.world 1 point 3 years ago* (1 child) This reminds me of that old site that made reddit look like Outlook so you can pretend to be working while on reddit. Now I'm pretending to be on reddit. The ol' switcharoo yadda yadda --found the site for those curious: http://pcottle.github.io/MSOutlookit/ but I think it's kind of broken now? permalink fedilink source hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] skullgiver@popplesburger.hilciferous.nl 2 points 3 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 child) [This comment has been deleted by an automated system] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] mercano@lemmy.world 0 points 3 years ago (1 child) An NNTP binding would be a bit more directly mappable, as Lemmyβs more analogous to Usenet than email. Each community would be a newsgroup. Still, NNTP and SMTP are pretty closely related, to the point that Outlook Express supported both email and Usenet. Subscribing, reading, posting, and commenting are pretty easy concepts to map, only up and downvoting are unsupported. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] skullgiver@popplesburger.hilciferous.nl 2 points 3 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent
