Australians have resoundingly rejected a proposal to recognise Aboriginal people in its constitution and establish a body to advise parliament on Indigenous issues.

Saturday’s voice to parliament referendum failed, with the defeat clear shortly after polls closed.

And if you look at the demographics that voted with the yes campaign, you'll find it's all the rich suburbs. Odd that they seem to know what's right for the most disenfranchised people.
